IDEAL 2.0 launching meeting
The activity will support Latin American countries in the collection of data and the creation of a draft of the Latin American Hazard Documentation and Assessment Tool (IDEAL 2.0).
In addition to the launching of the IDEAL 1.0 version in July 2021, several working meetings have been held, in which the Evolution of the Documentation and Evaluation Tool for Threat Assessment in Latin America – (IDEAL 2.0) has been discussed, with the presence of representatives from Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Peru, as well as representatives from CITCO (Spain), SIRASCO (France) and AMERIPOL, together with the IDEAL team of experts and members of the European program EL PAcCTO.
The main objective of the activity is to present the final version of the platform used for IDEAL 2.0, based on the contributions of all the participating countries and organizations from July 2021 to January 2022.
This meeting will also represent an opportunity for all IDEAL PoCs to get to know each other, to build trust, clarify doubts, discuss the draft IDEAL regulations that will help countries to be clear about how the information uploaded to the platform will be handled, as well as the expected role of each of the PoCs, etc., bringing greater clarity to the purpose of this strategic document for decision making and in the generation of public security policies at the level of citizen security. Hence the importance of articulating it with CLASI.
