1st Meeting of RAP Referents - Corruption, Internal Control and International Cooperation
The Penitentiary Academies Network (RAP) will meet in Montevideo, Uruguay to discuss the work on corruption and internal control on which it has been working since its creation, in addition to signing a multi-country agreement between the Penitentiary Academies.
One of the specific objectives of the meeting, which for the first time will be face-to-face, is to improve the structuring of schools and curricula, in addition to contributing to the creation of quality content appropriate to the fight against transnational organized crime and international standards.
It is expected to support the implementation of specific careers for prison administration personnel (security, technical and administrative staff). The aim is to strengthen the professionalization of the system through the definition of defined career paths, the creation of specialized bodies and continuous training. It also seeks to strengthen the organization of prison academies and improve training programs. At the regional level, the aim is to support the network of prison academies in Latin America by linking them with each other and with the EU prison academies.
