EU-LA high-level meeting - Alliances to face new criminal threats

The first phase of EL PAcCTO Program is now entering its final stretch and, in this context, it seems appropriate to take stock of the progress that has been made and the prospects for the future. This is why, within the framework of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the PAcCTO and the Government of the French Republic are organizing a high-level meeting in Paris.

This meeting will bring together actors from the security, justice and prison systems sectors with the aim of strengthening the dialogue between participants. In addition, it should be noted that the 27 Member States of the European Union are also invited to participate, through representatives of the 3 sectors mentioned above, in order to facilitate the expansion of exchanges between the two regions.

Among other things, the meeting is expected to:

* Encourage high-level dialogue and initiatives (political or technical) between LA and EU countries.
* Consolidate strategic work processes in the areas of Justice, Security and Penitentiary.
* Create synergies between actors in the penal chain.
