What is IDEAL?

Alongside a number of Latin American countries (Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico and Panama) and the European Union, EL PAcCTO has developed the Instrument for Documenting and Assessing the Threat of Transnational Organised Crime in Latin America (IDEAL).

This tool has made it possible to identify and analyse current criminal threats, such as drug and human trafficking, environmental crime and cybercrime. It may also promote greater coordination between public authorities to implement public policies that combat organised transnational crime.
