The overall purpose of EL PAcCTO: Support to AMERIPOL is to improving the level of international cooperation between the polices,  judicial and prosecutor bodies of the partner countries in the fight against organised crime. The programme encompasses the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and the Dominican Republic.

It is expected that the following results will be achieved:

• Improve AMERIPOL’s legal and operational capacities through its institutionalization process.

• Consolidate the AMERIPOL Police  Information System-SIPA, and achieve a fluid system  for the exchange of information between partner countries.
• Sign and ratify the Quito Agreement.
• Increase AMERIPOL’s capacity to improve police cooperation and joint investigations and operations.
• Promote the participation of other other countries in project activities.
